Information on Battery Disposal
On this page, we provide information about the proper disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries, the legal obligation to return used batteries and the meaning of battery symbols. Together, we can support recycling, resource conservation and environmental protection.
1. Legal Obligation to Return Used Batteries
Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries properly.
This return obligation helps protect people, the environment and valuable resources. Many batteries contain substances that may be harmful if disposed of incorrectly. At the same time, batteries contain valuable raw materials that can be recovered through proper recycling.
2. Returning Used Batteries
You may return used batteries that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range free of charge after use.
Return address:
Digipeop UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
Mono.Gift – Battery Disposal
Großenhainer Str. 60

Alternatively, you can return used batteries to municipal collection points, recycling centers or retailers wherever appropriate collection options are available.
Returning used batteries is generally free of charge for end users. When shipping batteries, please ensure secure packaging and, especially for lithium batteries, observe the applicable shipping and safety regulations.
3. Why Batteries Must Not Be Disposed of with Household Waste
Batteries and rechargeable batteries may contain heavy metals or other substances that can harm the environment if disposed of incorrectly. Separate collection enables controlled treatment and recycling of valuable materials.
Damaged or incorrectly disposed lithium batteries may also pose a safety risk, for example due to short circuits, heat development or fire hazards.
4. Meaning of Battery Symbols
Batteries and rechargeable batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin. This symbol means that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste and must instead be collected separately.
The battery contains more than 0.004 percent by mass of lead.
The battery contains more than 0.002 percent by mass of cadmium.
The battery contains more than 0.0005 percent by mass of mercury.
These chemical symbols may appear below the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol if the battery contains the corresponding substances.
5. Special Information on Lithium Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
Lithium batteries and lithium rechargeable batteries should be handled with particular care. If possible, please tape the terminals before returning or shipping them in order to avoid short circuits.
Damaged, swollen, leaking or overheated rechargeable batteries should not be shipped without appropriate protection. In such cases, please use a suitable municipal collection point or obtain information in advance about safe return options.
